Founded in 2009, Porto Charities is a 503(c) non-profit organization dedicated to increasing the educational and employment opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the Catholic Diocese of Arlington.

 

Through Grants and Advocacy programs Porto Charities has supported the creation and expansion of inclusive education services at Catholic Schools. To date, Porto Charities has awarded more than $1,250,000 in grants to Diocesan schools serving students with disabilities.

 

Porto Charities is also committed to helping young adults secure meaningful employment. To date, Porto has facilitated the employment of more than 20 young adults with disabilities working at schools, parishes and the Chancery through the PortoWorks employment initiative.
