We need your help! Inspired by our faith and the love of Christ within all of us, Porto Charities continues to partner with our Diocesan community as we look to increase the impact our efforts have on our parishes’ children, families, friends, neighbors, and schools to develop a sense of belonging and inclusion for ALL.

Your unrestricted donation helps us:

  • Increase our School Grants Fund for Inclusive Catholic Education to more parochial schools throughout the Diocese;

  • Expand our highly successful employment program we call “PortoWorks” with a goal of facilitating the meaningful employment of individuals with ID/DD in an internship, volunteer or paid position within the Diocese of Arlington utilizing the Customized Employment model;

  • Kickstart our new Porto Charities’ Scholarship Fund to provide financial support for teachers and instructional assistants in the Diocese of Arlington who take courses to qualify to instruct students with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

  • Maintain our website, social media presence & current database technology to better interact with the many constituents reaching out to us for help or advice;

  • Provide free educational webinars to support our Diocesan educators, employers, and advocates;

  • Support our partnership with the Office of Catholic Schools and Office of Faith Formation to host our Diocesan-wide educational conference for parents, educators and clergy called “From Inclusion to Belonging;”

  • Continue our efforts to foster a culture of inclusion in our Diocese through programs like PortoPartners that brings together local groups and families to experience and enjoy a day of belonging with our children and theirs;

  • Launch an effort we call Porto Ambassadors to expand our network of volunteers and connect on a more personal level to the many parishes and schools throughout the Diocese;

  • Continue our outreach in the Arlington Diocese with our Special Kids/Special Needs Parish Fundraising, annual Anyone Can Be a Hero Golf Tournament, our Family Christmas Party, and our new signature event, the Porto Charities’ Advocacy Awards Gala;
