In keeping with its mission of supporting those with intellectual and developmental disabilities with inclusive activities in our community to enrich and enhance their lives, Porto Charities provided a grant in 2019 to Heart House for its production of
“HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING”. This is a theater activity with inclusion of our special actors along with typical kids and adults.
It would be greatly appreciated if everyone could
attend one of their three performances. The performance is taking place at St. John Paul the Great Catholic High School (SJPTG). The school is a recipient of annual Porto grants for the past 10 years in support of its inclusive Options program.
A six-way partnership made this new production possible. Our thanks go out to all:
Bishop Burbidge for allowing the annual Special Kids/Special Needs second collections;
Parishes participating in the Special Kids/Special Needs collections of the Catholic Diocese of Arlington for opening their hearts and supporting these efforts for the past 61 years;
Porto Charities for managing and distributing 100% of funds collected from these collections for inclusive programs within the boundaries of our Diocese;
Saint John Paul the Great Catholic High School in Dumfries for the use of their facilities for the performances;
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church for providing rehearsal space; and
Heart House, a 501(c)(3) organization, for bringing this production to life in five short months.
