About the Nomination Process
Porto Charities will recognize an Outstanding Educator, Outstanding Employer (Parish or School), Outstanding Peer Mentor, and an Outstanding School with the Porto Charities' Advocacy Award. The awards are open to any individual working or serving in the Diocese of Arlington. Nominations will close on Friday, February 9, 2024 at 5:00 pm and the recipients will be selected by the Porto Charities Awards Selection Committee.

Individuals are invited to submit nominations through this website by Friday, February 9, 2024, at 5:00pm.

Nominators may be contacted by phone or email if the selection committee requires additional information about their nominees.

Eligibility Criteria:

An individual must currently be working/serving/volunteering in the Diocese of Arlington, VA. To be eligible for the Outstanding School or Outstanding Employer, the school or parish must be located in the Diocese of Arlington,

A recipient will be deemed worthy of the award based on the impact they have had in inspiring a culture of inclusion and belonging resulting in a positive contribution to inclusive education or employment in the Diocese of Arlington.

Nominees may be asked to participate in an interview which may include a site visit.

The recipient, or their representative, will be presented with the Porto Charities' Advocacy Award in their respective category at our 2nd Annual Advocacy Awards to be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Bishop Ireton High School in Alexandria, Virginia.
